But, in all seriousness, what is the difference between 29M and 31M, when all you are is tied to a 1 year contract? There is no penalty...hence, no difference. Be bold. You can't take the money with you. Who cares? Stanton, when healthy, is a top 10 player.
The bidding on Stanton seems like it got a little antagonistic today, but in all fairness, there are only a couple of teams with that kinda cheddar left. Be bold, or don't!
I know you got the stones! Be bold. My guess is Pitts would probably go above 30M anyway!
Even with Stanton at such a high salary, if it is a 1 year deal, it would be easy to trade him (with covering salary) if the winner is not near the top of the standings. That is why I overpaid for Dee Gordon, SBs, Rs, AVG, OBP.

Ummm Dee Gordon doesn't walk. His OBP is atrocious. He walked 25 times in 615 ABs last year. So, yeah, you better be getting 200 hits. 88 runs and 40 something RBIs is also anemic. You paid for stolen bases, buddy. Sorry SD for picking on your guy.

Brewskis you are one to be talking. You paid $18m for a guy who hit .261, OBP of .316, 23 walks, 6 SB and 54 runs. Gordon is significantly better in all 4 categories.
