Everyone is familiar with the 150/50 IP line. This works well for starting pitchers and for most position players.
HOWEVER...
it does not work as well for modern relief pitchers. Some of these short stint relief pitchers take a full year or more before they hit 50 IP. For example, there is a closer right now that nobody can own and he is unlikely to even make the 50 IP limit before the end of the season.
My proposed change is to add a condition like 20 appearances for pitchers. So it would be 50/150 or 20 games pitched before you are a major league player.
im in if it starts next season as there are several holds guys(could be cl's) available immed. and if same conditions as cant acquire in same day as attain elig.
but then these players would be avail in milb draft. would you spend a pick for buchter? or compete thru silent bid for him with exc chance of losing him to someone bidding higher

I disagree. Sounds like the Milb wouldnt change. We're just making the path to MLB eligibility shorter in season. Offseason there will be from time to time guys knocking on the door that we can scoop up with a Milb pick. That's what Im thinking

Should established major league guys, guys who might have 20 or more saves, be elligible for the MILB draft? should those guys be eligible for free agency instead?

I believe it should be subject to a Milb and let the draft order dictate who gets those guys. I think we can achieve the best of both worlds where we maintain an in-season eligibility for MLB status AND those ineligible drafted in an off-season Milb
