Interesting first pick Det. I see why you wanted to move down. At the end tho if you cant find a deal gotta take who you want, and the "experts" are wrong plenty. Good luck!
Also, we are not subtracting a year from the years assigned in this draft, correct?
If we are subtracting a year, I want to reassign 5 yrs instead of 4. My understanding is that we started this new system for the entry draft last year, but want to verify.
If he stays a catcher it could be a real good pick. Most likely he will be an OF. If his power stays, it's a value pick for me. May the force be with me!
no years will be subtracted from the assigned years. it will be indicated on the ssheet prob by an 'X' so when i adjust the sheets i know not to touch that player
Don't all players drafted have to be listed in Baseball America's database. Aiken is not listed since he did not sign a contract, and thus is not a minor league player. Baseball America only list major league and minor league players in their database.

MY recollection is that the 'baseball america' rule was only for the MiLB draft. This was partly due to necessity because we used to have our draft so close to the realy draft (and the signing period extended far longer than it does now) that it would be impossible to uphold such a rule.
I think for the Entry draft the only requirement was that you had to have been drafted in the most recent draft.
See 2012 Entry Draft rules. This is the last listing of the rules for entry drafts and I can find no mention of changes to them. In previous years, our entry draft was prior to the signing deadline - the players unsigned at that point were still eligible to sign that year in real life, but this year they have to back into the next 1st Year Player Draft in real life.

I honestly think it might be a mistake if it is in the 2012 entry draft rules. I've drafted players that weren't signed yet. I'm hoping Chicago can weigh in here.
If it is the rule that unsigned players cannot be drafted in the entry, then it's a rule we've never enforced and I'd like to see it changed.
