in the past our entry draft was around 2 weeks after the real draft. tho i cant give you names there were some instances of players drafted and then went unsigned. they still belong to the drafting team. actual results have always been posted. it was from there and all the rounds that ba lists are players we can select from. aiken is listed as 1.1. hope this helps

I've drafted players that did not sign and then went back into the draft in later years. Alex Myers was a 20th round pick that I selected, went back into the draft, but I held him for a couple of years until cutting him because his years was going to run out. He's since been drafted again (1st round) and is owned in this league by another team. (How's that for some Pirates' scouting on a 20th round pick?) So there's 1 precedent.
Free Agent draft is the only draft where players need to be listed in BA. aiken is eligible because he was drafted in the Entry draft, it is a good pick. I didn't want to give up 3 years for him.

Actual draft slot.
To address Brewers concern...as I stated, I believe the rule is written incorrectly in this case. I am usually a 'letter of the law' type of guy, but in this case there is plenty of precedent as to who is eligible for the draft. If nobody had ever selected an unsigned player before, I would be a lot more sympathetic to that argument. But in this specific case, I think it is clear enough that the rule as written is wrong.

I think I've got all the spreadsheets updated for the draft. You are on the hook to verify I got you the right player. I make mistakes. All the damn time.
