Now that Juan Soto is a Yankee, do you think the Yankees lock him up to a long term deal, or does he get to FA without a long term deal?

For me, I doubt the Yankees would trade all they did if they didn’t have confidence they would be able to lock him up long term. Cashman does some strange things, so I might be way off here.

The Yankees now have a log jam in the outfield. I guess Judge is the new CF! 🤦‍♂️

I was reminded Soto is a boras client so who knows. Prob going to be pretty bad defense wise, but if they stay healthy some serious bash bros! I personally hope the pitching falls on its face and Yankees miss the post season again while Soto cranks 40 hr, but that would be just me...

Compared to what the padres gave up to get Soto, the return is light.

The padres should of traded Soto in July and they would of got a bigger return.

I think extending Soto will largely depend on if they get Yamamoto.

Don't love moving Judge to full time CF though. Hes getting to be about that age where you start looking at moving a guy off of CF to a corner spot so they don't get beat up. Just can't see him getting 140 games in that way, but maybe they have a plan?

They can also DH Judge at the times and play Grisham in CF.

Not Brito. King and Vasquez, whom I both have. I think we had to trade for him, bit considering it’s only 1 year with no hope of signing before he hits FA AND having to pay him over $30m this year AND being forced to take Grisham in a salary dump, they should’ve drawn the line at King AND Thorpe. One or the other, not both.

If they win the whole enchilada this year, then it would be worth it. If they don’t and then DON’T sign him, it becomes hard to swallow. And signing him will cost $400m+. Yeesh. And between this deal, the Verdumbo deal and the the Rule 5 Draft, they lost 10, repeat TEN, pitchers. Several with MLB experience. They’re starting pitching is WIPED OUT. They need to sign Yamamoto And Montgomery because they have NO depth to lean on and two of the projected starters are coming off terrible, injury plagued years.
