im currently at 90 but will have no problem getting down to the limit. i always thought the minor league years was the worst rule in cashman. you should be limited to a certain number of players, not some arbitrary number of years. id support moving to a 15/20/25 whatever player limit. you keep them indefinitely. drop them anytime.

when looking for trades I don't like having to look up 30 different prospects. I would be fine with a certain number and no yrs tho. We definitely would need to do it in the future tho because people make plans based on current rules

Wouldn't be hard to phase in. Keep the limit at 90 for a couple of years. Set the player limit at 30 (does anyone even have that many?) and reduce the number down by 5 every year to whatever the end result should be. Allow year round cuts.
At the start of the season, I had over 30 players in my minors.
To limit the number of players in the minors to a maximum number is just dumb. It tells me that the max # of years isn’t important, neither is managing or assigning years to players who are drafted. There is ZERO strategy in this act, and I’m not for it.
Increasing the number of years is something I’m ok with. However, in order to keep up with evolution, we should look to expand the drafts beyond 2/5 rounds if we are going to increase the number. This would be the time to do it. I would also suggest to increase the total # of years to 100 instead of 90. It’s a less arbitrary number TBH, and makes more sense as we grow the draft(s) and number of minor league years.
If I wanted to draft 50 players at 1 year a piece, that should be my prerogative, and I don’t want MORE limitations (like Philly would say) in place for me managing my team the way I want to manage it.
