If we repeal, what become the options for such players. Do they go back into the MiLB draft pool? We can sign, cut and place on WW? Repeal is just the first question, there are other questions that need answered as part of the repeal?

Anyone already hembree ruled would be grandfathered so it would stay the same for them until their contract is up or they make majors. Not fair to change rules for past I don't think.

I just want to be clear, the plan would be that the player becomes a MiLB FA and goes back into the draft? I would either oppose this or ask that the rule be delayed until next year. I held on to Kopech with the intention of signing him as a Hembree.

I think this is a very good baseline vote. But this should NOT be the one and only vote on a proposal. If folks vote to keep hembree vs dump it, I propose next vote should be whether to maintain hembree as it is written, or addendum that you can cut or waiver the hembree.

I can't see it either, but I don't think we are repealing. Mostly just wanted to illustrate that while people don't like the rule they don't want it to go away either
I voted, I vote No. I don’t particularly see why the rule has to change at all. I think it is only an issue because of a new owner getting into a jam because of a bad signing. I haven’t been around long enough to see the rule wreak havoc. Its an equal risk/reward for all teams that encounter the Hembree situation. Serious question, are we looking to make the league better in some way by changing this rule? Or are we trying to change it because nothing is going on? Not being snarky and if I’m missing something please let me know. I don’t think there is a problem with the rule. Buying additional years etc I am against
Even tho I voted to get rid of Hembree, it’s more of a preference than being against Hembree. Half the league has said to keep it. I think it’s gonna stay, and that’s fine by me. I might have the most number of players in my minors too. I understand why it’s not popular to get rid of it.
Although, I am disappointed that all of our managers are not engaged on voting for a rule change. Agree or disagree, everyone should vote. There is no reason we don’t have 14 votes. Perhaps this will change in a couple of days once baseball is rockin again.
Voted no. Seems to be no agreement on what to do instead and I like the idea of having opportunity to hold onto prospect that is good and maybe close but is out of minor years.

It appears 3 of the YES votes are Brew, Yanks and Tigers. Here is the best deal of all. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT. I would like to propose a rule, any team who votes NO to the Hembree rule doesn't get to use it. The when you lose a top prospect to 3 atbats, we can all laugh.
