With the volume of trades we've been having, it would be a great help if everyone followed these guidelines when posting trades:
1. When trading draft picks, ALWAYS mention the draft, the year, and the 'slot' team. For example: Pirates trade 2018 Entry 1st round (Chi)....
2. When trading salary, PLEASE post the exact amount trading hands. PLease don't take the lazy way out and just say "paying salary". Because then I have to go look it up. I want the exact dollar amount changing hands.
3. Please tell me who is sending what...not who is receiving what. For example, don't say "Pirates receive Babe Ruth and Chicago receives Ron Kittle." Instead say "Pirates send Ron Kittle and CHicago sends Babe RUth."
Lastly, it would actually help if you used the following as a template: -------------------------------------- Subject: Pirates - Chicago trade -------------------------------------- Pirates send: Ron Kittle $500,000 in 2024 MiLB 5th round draft pick (Tex)
White Sox send: Babe Ruth $6,000,000 in 2016 $3,000,000 in 2017 Entry 1st round pick 2016 (Chi) MiLB 1st round pick in 2018 (Bos)
If things are listed out like that I can just go boom boom boom right down the line. When the transaction is written out as a narrative, it's easy for me to lose my place or miss something or get confused as to who is giving what, especially when draft picks and cash are involved.
