All games are final...the stats are in...and the Cashman Pennant winners are the Pirates and the Brewers!
The Brewers have had the West wrapped up for awhile, but the East went down to the final day. On the strength of a huge day from their offense, the Pirates were able to build on the narrow lead they established just this week to pull out the coveted East title.
This is the Pirates 4 overall title, 4th in 6 years and 3rd in 4 years. For the Brewers, this was their first West title.
It was one of the best races in Cashman history. Truly a 4 team race (Pirates, Orioles, Brewers, Phillies) until the final few weeks, finally narrowing down to Baltimore and Pittsburgh, with the Brewers having an outside chance depending on whether the Pirates or Orioles pulled it out. The lead changed hands several times between the Pirates and Orioles (with the 2 teams trading positions directly with each other in several categories) in the last 2 weeks before the Pirates pulled ahead for good on the final weekend.
Thanks to all for a great season. Thanks especially to those who help run and keep this league together (you know the names.)

I threw the kitchen sink at Baltimore and Philly. So many things went wrong this year that I had to go 100% all in to win. Probably sunk my team for a year or 2 to win it, but the flag will fly forever. Starting about a month ago, I started looking at the categories to see where the most points could be made. Made strategic trades and moves to target those categories. And it somehow paid off. I went so far as to check weather forecasts the last week or so to see which hitters had the most favorable environments.
I'm pretty burned out right now. My fantasy football teams are complete wastelands because of it. But thankfully it paid off.
Looking forward to free agency already. Cashman never stands still.
