Playing my first organized baseball game in 15 years tonight. Got recruited by a bunch of guys who play in a 38+ wood bat league who are having trouble getting 9 guys for their games. The only time in the last 10 years that I've faced 'pitching' was with the Phillies owner (Ken) last year at PNC Park...and that was 8 pitches from a machine throwing 60. I haven't hit with a wooden bat in anger since little league (1984-ish). I haven't even played softball in 10 years.
Here's my tools scouting report: Hit - 20 Power - 20 Glove - Yes, found it. Arm - Doesn't hurt YET. Speed - Betty White on morphine in molasses
Escaping without injury is objective #1. Not embarrassing myself in the field is objective #2.

Congrats on not getting injured! Sad that it comes down to that haha.
I'm in mid thirties and only play low level beer league softball. I still have better than average speed comparative to the league I'm in, and never really had much in power or arm strength departments to lose! I play coed so hitting to the right side is good for business.

I almost had to call for oxygen when I had to run from 2nd to home. And I fouled a ball off my foot. Other than that I escaped major injury. I realized the rotator cuff/labrum issue I had 10 years ago didn't really heal all the way, though I can throw without pain if I short-arm the ball. They invited me back for Tuesday night, so that's a good sign. I haven't embarrassed myself yet.
