I hate to sound mean,,but 2 years ago, I missed my picks during the entry draft and you guys just skipped right over me. Should we not do,the same for the Rangers and give him a chance to pick when he finally signs on? If need be, we could give him some time to pick post draft if he is not to be found easily...
Just a thought. I don't think assigning him a player is the correct response...
Personally, I believe the Rangers should be deemed an abandoned franchise and a new manager recruited. Because of that, I would award the Rangers franchise the next available on the BA list so as not to penalize the new manager.
My pick is coming up soon, but I want you to make a ruling on Texas's draft pick(s). I will wait to make my pick (when it comes my turn...) until YOU make the ruling.
Please use your best judgement and keep the integrity of the league while making your ruling. General concensus is nice, but this may be a case where you have to step in a make a ruling.
How did the new Rangers get into this league? I'm assuming that someone here knew him on some level to get an invite. That's how I got in this league, I basically had to know someone....unfortunately that was our former late Rangers owner but either way - seems like someone here should know the new rangers owner on some level. If a spot does open up I may know of someone but I would be reluctant to offer to him just yet. This league is pretty intense and I can see how it could overwhelm some folks.
I also have someone who I would like to ask to join the league that would fit well. I've been bragging to him about this league for quite some time now...
generally speaking when a team misses his spot to choose we let him select the next time he signs in. next best is if its requested. if the ranger team is actually abandoned then we may decide to give the franchise next best at end of the draft. pitts, what say you?

right. the decision on the draft pick depends on whether rangers is abandoned or not. i hate to just kick him out of the league without a warning. at this point i am inclined to skip him for now and treat him as if he is on vacation or something.

I doubt his absence was well planned. Let's skip him and hope for the best. If he doesn't show, the rangers will be awarded the best prospects available after all teams have completed their drafting.
its sad if texas is gone but i like what i'm hearing from you guys. hearing you want active managers so that the league can be the best, plus possible replacements. long live cashman.
