while keeping the silent bid auctions is there a way or desire to incorporate regular auctions during the year? would be infrequent but doable. any interest?

I'm not advocating for this, I'm just throwing it out in regard to Chicago's post... How about having a point during the season (the mid point, all star break) where you can nominate 1 player to go into a mid-season auction pool. All the nominated players would then go up for bid. This would be a great way to get out from under a terrible contract. If your guy doesn't get bought, you still own him.

Another thought, one that I may have mentioned, is to make the MiLB draft an auction.
One possible implementation is that teams get a budget for the draft, with the amounts allocated according to standings (pretty much how the real mlb draft works now.)
Another implementation would be to allow teams to bid on players by # of years. So if you were convinced that Johnny Come-Lately is the next Mike Trout, you could bid 20 years on him. Ties go to the team lower in the standings.
I also agree that the comish's have more than enough to do. Adding another auction just adds more to them. I commend the job the commish's do here, having a minor roster update to do periodically is just makes them human. I have had make updates to me when I noticed something wrong, it was promptly corrected.
