Per a previous rule suggestion, and something I think we all agreed on, the players we draft next week won't have their first year deducted from their minor league contract until NEXT year.
For example, you draft Player X and assign 5 years. In the past, the year the player was drafted counted as one of the 5 years. We are making a change this year so that the year the entry players are drafted will not count toward their contract. So Player X will not go down to 4 years until the end of the 2013 season.
