Yahoo Rosters will be active on Wednesday

I've got all the rosters loaded and ready...all I have to do is pull the trigger. There are still a couple of roster spots that need to be filled. You should know who you are. You have 2 more blind bid periods to fill them. If not, the 'next best available' that is eligible for the position(s) you need will be selected for you at a cost of 325k for 1 yr.

We have someone lined up for the yankees, but we are waiting for them to check in. If they don't come through soon, we will continue to look for an owner. If none is found by Wednesday, NY will get the 'best available' treatment to fill its roster. Either way, our yahoo league will go live on Wednesday.

Following precedent set in previous years, waiver slots will become available ON OPENING DAY. DL spots are available as soon as Wednesday...just depends on when yahoo decides to start putting the DL designation on the players. But as soon as one of your players gets that designation in yahoo, feel free to put him on your yahoo DL.

Addendum to the above....you not only need 25 players, but you also need 1 player for every starting position. So, if your team does not have any players who are eligible for, say, 3B in yahoo, you need one. If you don't have one by Wednesday, one will be assigned to you and your lowest ranked player will be cut.

This is per league rule and prior precedent (from way before I was commish!)

as you all know when yahoo opens for the season you need a 25-man roster in order to input your team into the game engine. last year 1 team didnt have that many and the commish just added a scrub and penalized that team $325K. its a slight advantage, but still an advantage, not to decide until you want to. so this year the penalty is raised to $2mil($1mil when cut) for every player the commish has to add to your team to get to 25.


if the yankees do not have an owner by wednesday, they will still have their roster completed, but they will not be penalized.

bumping this at chicago's request....dont forget, you need 25 active guys (dl is ok) on your major league team by monday. so if you need a guy, better make some bids for sunday's FA deadline. dont get penalized! we want to fill out the rosters and start this season.
