The 2011 MiLB Draft will commence on Monday, January 3 - 9:00 AM CST. Each day will run from 6am - midnight. We will break between midnight and 6am CST. Each team will have 6 hours to pick. If you miss your time you can always come back and select. If you know you will miss your time you can always PM the Admin account with a list of players to choose from or mention 'next best'. This will be run exactly like all our other drafts. Players drafted will be placed in your minor league system. When you draft a player list his name and # of years you want to control him. Only players that I can find off the BA database are eligible.(Dont draft yourself. ) Remember you only have 75 total years for all players in your minor league system. Also, at the end of the season I subtract 1 year from all minor leaguers without regard to when acquired. "Next best" requests will acquire the next player from the BA list that was posted. "Next best" years to be applied as follows: AAA player will be assigned 2 years AA player will be assigned 3 years A-R-SS players will be assigned 5 years. If I missed something or you have questions or concerns, just post it here or pm.
Nice catch there, Bean-town!. I believe there will be a 'freeze' on players who sign DURING our draft, ala Chapman. Quite a controversy last year. Check with the Commish about the exact ruling on this situation.

Copied from the Chat forum where it was originally posted. I think I've covererd every possible scenario here:
Just to remind everyone...
Players are eligible for the MiLB draft if they: 1. Can be found in the Baseball America database 2. Have compiled fewer than 150 at bats or 50 innings pitched in the majors 3. Are not owned by any other owner
I don't think we have any "Aroldis Chapmans" this year, but you never know. So, in order to avoid last year's situation, I would like to add the following:
4. Players who sign with their first MLB team after the draft has begun are not eligible, whether they are added to the database or not. 5. If a player signs before the draft but is not yet added to the Baseball America database, you may nominate him for inclusion in the draft. If he would otherwise be eligible, I will include him. All players receiving this special waiver will be announced before the draft. 6. If a player was not nominated for special waiver and is added to the BA database during the draft, he is ineligible to be drafted. 7. If there is no proof that a player was not in the database before the draft, it will be assumed that he is eligible.
Ok...it's really not that confusing. If there is a Chapman type player and you think you might want to draft him, then you need to let me know before the draft that he should be eligible. Then I will announce that the player is being given a special waiver and will be eligible for anyone to draft him. Otherwise, you can't draft him.
