Prior to the start of the MiLB draft (date is TBA), each team will be allowed to extend the minor league contract of 1 and only 1 prospect up to a total of 5 years.
This is a one time special exemption and will not be repeated.
- You may not extend a minor league contract beyond 5 years.
- You do not have to extend the contract all the way to 5 years.
- You may not reduce the number of years on a contract.
- Any prospect on your roster on the day the extension is made is eligible.
- Years added to prospects under this special exemption will follow the player even if he is traded.
