so...anybody who currently is signed by a major league team is eligible for the MiLB draft, right?
what about international prospects? lets say some dude from cuba comes over on a raft and is signed by the yankees a day before the draft....can we draft him? what if he is signed by the yankees during the draft? i think we need to put a cutoff and say that you need a contract before the start of the draft in order to be eligible.
also, i believe this was answered in the past, but japanese professionals are NOT eligible, right? you'd have to sign them to your major league squad, right?
anybody who has less than 150ab's or 50ip's is eligible. next and simplest way is that only players appearing in baseball america's database are eligible.(go to search players) guys on rafts or japan... most japanese imports are usually MLB ready. cant draft them as minors. we wait until they pitch their 50 innings and then you can silent bid for them. the 'rafters' usually go into the minors. again, if ba includes them you can draft them. easy. go to ba. enter name. shows up..draft 'em.
