The Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Dodgers have come to terms on a deal that will send Orioles outfielder Brett Gardner to the Dodgers for second baseman Orlando Hudson.
To complete this deal, Baltimore will drop Clint Barmes whose recent play has been nothing short of terrible.

Baltimore, you wouldn't need a second basement had you kept Utley. It seems that your teams fall started about the time that Utley was traded away. Is it coincidence?

I still think you gave up too much to get Utley, but it really hurt Baltimore's offense. He gained pitching at the expense of hitting. The end result is I need to say "thank you" for taking Utley away from him.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. The season is not over yet. I knew what I was doing when I traded Utley. While Kelly Johnson is doing nothing this season, there is no way that Prado is worthy of a starting position. I needed pitching so I gained Santana. On top of that, I got a long term replacement for Teix in Gonzo. So let's see what I have done these past few weeks.
Traded away: Utley Teixeira Cecil Fowler Gardner
Gained: Santana Gonzalez Kershaw Quentin Johnson Hudson
I did not want to look at just this season, I needed to look beyond it. Sure, Utley was a key piece of my offense. I'll give you that. However, I still have an IF that has Longoria (23 yr old), Hanley (25 yr old), and one of the most underrated players in the game in Adrian Gonzalez (27).
Toronto, don't get too comfortable. I am only one point behind right now...

i think there are 3 players who cant be replaced in fantasy baseball right now. (ie, nobody at their positions even come close). pujols, h.ramirez, and utley.
and you traded one of them.
i gave up too much to get utley...but everything i gave up can be replaced either from within or through free agency.

I'm not too comfortable. I expect us this fight to go down to the wire. My point of view is that your offense is not as good without Utley and Teixiera. Gonzalez is very good, but will not match Teixiera the rest of the season. And you cannot replace Utley. You did improve your pitching, but I see your offense suffering more than your pitching gaining.
