I am stepping down as commissioner effective immediately. I wrote this same post almost 2 weeks ago now before my post just vanished in the proboards glitch. I didn’t have time to re-write it, but it needs to happen. I no longer have the time to police the league. My career has grown out of control at this point and I need to take steps back in various places of my life.
I will not be leaving the league, and I will still help with our league activities. I still enjoy fantasy baseball and have no desire to give up playing anytime soon. But, I cannot care for the league the way I want to or should.
I’ll be turning over the commissioner keys to NYY. A few years back I wasn’t sold on NY taking over as commissioner. But, Mike has a lot of common sense and good leadership skills. I know he also values our format and history. However, I am certain that this small change will pay dividends in the years to come. He knows where the league was heading and will see it through to our end goals. He also has a huge task in learning the proboards admin controls and updating the sheets every turn of the year (and others). This is not something I have the time to take on, but someone needs to own the responsibility. Mike has known of my intentions to step down for several months and I appreciate his discretion with my intentions. I asked him to take over commissioner duties and he graciously agreed. Thank you twice!
I apologize for this being right at the start of the season. Timing is not so bad though as we have 14 active managers. I want to give NYY enough time to acclimate before he has to turn the sheets to 2025! Please help me by extending a welcoming hand to our new commissioner!

Well it was a short, but sweet reign for Detroit. You took over when the league started having some turnover issues, including losing the long time Commish, Pitts. U made changes to Draft Rounds n years, plus implemented QO after the league couldn’t decide on its own!
When u wanted to become Commish, I was worried u might be too ill tempered for the job, but it turns out I was wrong, u proved to be understanding and fair, all traits I admire n intend to continue as r league’s newest Commish. I appreciate the time n effort u put in n hopefully u’ll still be available as I learn this job. I’m not new to running leagues, just this has always been a unique league n the ONLY Roto league I’ll b in…lol!
