Just wanted to put this out there us as a league to brainstorm some ideas.
Is there any way to make it easier for us to know who is on other rosters instead of having to go through each teams roster before we make a move or pick? This goes for free agency during the regular season.
I typically trade all of my MILB picks, which I don't always want to do, but I don't have the time to scrub the list myself, and I don't think the draft would be any fun if I have to go through the rosters to figure out who is available.
Same in the regular season, most times you can tell who is available, but when it comes to a reliever or bench hitter, I don't want to have go look through 13 other rosters to make sure I can bid on Tyler Clippard!
Also, why don't we utilize the NA? Almost all of the players in the minors have an NA next to their name. Why can't we have everyone keep their players on their rosters under the NA. This will decrease a ton of players from the player pool and take out a lot of cross referencing we have to do.
Any thoughts on my NA suggestion or any idea of how we can make this league easier to navigate the available player pool?

Use the "League Rosters" sheet linked on the left side under the individual rosters. That way you only have to search one sheet instead of all of them.
I'll also have a list posted under the 2023 draft boards that shows just available players. I still need to get that cleaned up, but should have that good to go by this weekend.
The NA could be an option. Does Yahoo have an option to keep a minors list separate from the rest of the roster? If not we may run into issues with owners manipulating how many active players they are holding....some on purpose and some by mistake.

I reason we may not use Na slots is because Yahoo rosters have a max number. Everyones Milb list is different so if say a manager has 16 milb guys they cant all be rostered. Just my 2 sense. Yes thats also a reason it helps with roster manipulation and prevents it.
Last season I had 32 minor leaguers in my minors. That’s bigger than our MLB rosters.
I just posted 2 spreadsheets in the draft area. The sheets are lists of all major and minor league players owned, sorted alphabetically. This helps take the “dumb” out of scrubbing the League rosters.
Players are added and dropped too frequently to have a mechanism to track long term. Each team’s individual sheet is linked to the League Roster sheet. You will always have to scrub this sheet for the most accurate results.
For as long as I’ve been in this league, I have always had to scrub these lists to prepare for the MiLB draft. The more work I put in, I find the gems that others might not scout. I have my own routine of scouting players, which is usually the result of taking multiple sources top 100-400 players. I use this and put together my own rankings.
This topic has been debated for years. The League Rosters sheet was the best idea we had to help aid the filtering and condense the search. I don’t see any better way to help this.
Remember that this is a FREE league. People volunteer their time to help the league. We all own a piece of this. I highly encourage anyone with an idea to help implement a solution. We’ll never turn away help, or something that would be beneficial for the league.
I agree with all of that. I actually forget about the league rosters page, I will try and use that this upcoming year.
This is why I put this out there.
All the prospects flood the free agency and it’s just a pain to sift through on a Tuesday prior to bidding. Any minor league players I own in my dynasty and keeper leagues we all utilize the NA spot. So it’s easily clear they are rostered because you don’t see them as “available”.
Is there a way to do a league rosters for the minor league to see in a snap shot?!? That could be the answer…
I appreciate everyone who does the sheets because I don’t have the time to scrub a list. I have 4 other leagues besides this one. 2 of which I commish. I get the time it’s takes so it’s appreciated, I just can’t fit it all in. Even though I will still find the time I play in 5 leagues every year! Lol
Download the majors and minor sheets I put together. This will make it really easy to look through to see if a particular player is owned. It will take you seconds rather than minutes to sift through.
Yahoo is not the most versatile site to use for daily lineups. I don’t want a roster of 60+ people who I own in Yahoo. This is not viable.
I am in 6 leagues every year. 2 of them I’m commish. I get the time constraints. Some people like the Entry draft over the MiLB draft for this reason. Easier to pick from a list of people where nobody is owned.
Thank you for doing the List Detroit. Def does help and is another tool at our disposal. Man only 6 leagues? I wish i had only 6. Maybe its time to cut down.

I used to have multiple leagues including paid ones and ottoneu and gradually got rid of all of them since my kids were born. Only one left standing is cashman. I got so I just couldn't get into redraft as much and the churn and burn activity of ottoneu was so much I ended up ignoring my team here more. I enjoy the pace of cashman and mostly positive interactions. Keeps me up on my baseball and something else to focus on when real twins are shitty!
