There is always a way if you want it bad enough.....Take Harper off his hands for this year and make him pay something like $6MM each of the final 3 years to get your $18 back. That way you still have $20+MM to play with this season, get a half year of one of the best bats in baseball, and a cheaper version of Harper for the rest of that contract. KC gets out of that contract in 2023 for free with the money to go after TT if he wants, and basically pays a penalty for future years similar to what it would be if he cut him.

I'm sure someone says no to that....maybe both, but it's a starting point.
