Now that our league events are over, it’s time to start thinking about a plan for the season, if we get one.
I think the best thing to do is just wait until there is an agreement to play baseball. We can agree to start up silent bidding within 7 days of a reached agreement. I will populate Yahoo rosters over the next couple of days.
I think we should all prepare to jump right into the season as soon as an agreement is reached. I would think they would need at least 3 weeks of spring training type of activities, with a potential start as soon as 30 days once an agreement is made. We should just play it out as normal even if we only get half a season.
We can determine if we need to do something with regards to minor years, or other aspects, if it impacts the minor league season or Covid becomes an issue again.

Against adding the 3rd round to the entry draft? No. Afraid adding a 6th round to the MiLB draft and a 3rd to the entry may water down the MiLB draft after a couple of years? a little bit.
That's 24 extra picks per year of what should be mostly prospects on most top 300 lists. Not against it, but do think it's worth at least thinking through the ripple effect it may have.
Also, I'm sure we don't want to open up the sheets to too many people, however, if you guys want an extra set of hands I'm happy to help. I'm down to this being the last dynasty league I'm in and debating if I even want to do a redraft league this year. I'm open to taking on some admin duties, if needed.

I’m actually more in favor of adding a 3rd Rd to the Entry Draft than I’m in favor of adding a 6th Rd to MiLB Draft. Now with that said, there were still plenty of good draft prospects remaining after rd 5 of this last draft, but like Rangers said, it will have a ripple effect in future years if we go from 70 players to 84 players taken each year. As far as the Entry Draft, I think going to 3 rounds won’t b a problem as the 1st 2 rounds of actual draft has compensation picks n going from 28 to 42 players, would actually still leave many 2nd round picks available to choose from.
I look at it this way. I had 10 players left on my list who could have fantasy impact next season. Guys who could have been drafted on 1 year contracts(maybe 2 years if super conservative). The entry draft only includes 4-5 year contracts and is only open to a small group of players. The impacts from adding another round to the MiLB draft won’t be too bad cumulatively, over time.
Adding a 3rd round to the Entry draft will be more impactful on total minor league years and lack of prospects quicker, simply because it’s a narrower group of players.
Watered down over a few years? Perhaps. The minor league revolving door was installed by allowing minor league player drops at anytime. Teams can easier select which contracts they carry forward and which ones they cut bait with.
I would like to see this as an installation of continued growth for this league. We are all reasonable people (mostly). If we see this having a negative impact on the league, we can simply revert back to our original ways.
Other perspectives? Discussion? Wants? Suggestions? Who’s holding the next poll?

I could take on some admin work but know nothing about google sheets as of now. I can learn though. I think this last "MILB Draft" was deeper than normal but maybe streaming towards norm too because of the larger pool in general. As in these drafts will be "projected" more like this last one than in the past. Not sure how I feel on draft expansion yet. Will come back to this
