Ohtani & 2-way players

Whatever happened to the NA in Yahoo to allow the extra roster spot? This was just because Yahoo treated him as 2 players. If this isn’t fixed, Ohtani will count as 2 players n it was previously agreed he’d only count as 1.

I get your point, but in my dynasty league that I’ve run for
Years, I have him, and he counts as 2 players for me. He is one person, but plays 2 positions. Yahoo just sucks, but whoever owns him still reaps the benefits of 2 players

If ohtani counts as 2 roster spots, then it’s like you are punishing his owner. What if his owner never wants to let him pitch?

I suppose if you really want to use the extra roster spot you could cut and add hitter and pitcher ohtani depending on which you want to use otherwise I think you are just going to have to accept ohtani costs 2 roster spots. If it is tooucj of a burden I'm sure you could trade him and someone else will gladly deal with it

I’d have no issue accepting it IF that’s how it was from day 1, BUT it was decided on day 1 that he would only count as 1 player. So due to Yahoo sucking, Pitts added a NA player to every other team, to allow Ohtani to count as only 1 in Yahoo. It was slightly annoying, but it worked. However, last season when we went from 25 man rosters to 26 man rosters, every team (other than Ohtani owner) just added the extra player to their roster instead of having a NA. I didn’t acquire Ohtani until late in the season so I didn’t really realize (thought something was off) the mistake until planning 2022 roster. This was an oversight as far as I know, caused by roster size increasing by 1, so I’m bringing this up now, so it can b fixed (not changed). It doesn’t seem fair (regardless how good Ohtani is…lol) to change how things were handled in the middle of a contract, unless Yahoo came up with a new solution to treat Ohtani as 1 player!

I'm in some leagues that treat Ohtani-offense and Ohtani-pitcher as 2 different players that can be owned by 2 different teams. In fact, that is kind of the default way to handle him based on how Yahoo has refused to tweak their system to accommodate 2 way players.

I’d b fine with that if that what was decided originally as I could then trade either 1 if I wanted, but it was decided in R league that he should b treated as 1 player. Look, I’m not asking for a change, I just want it like it was b4 rosters expanded. The way it is in Yahoo now, Ohtani counts as 2 players n only 1 in Cashman!

Ppl didn't like having the n/a because it screwed their auto lineup setting or something. I didn't have an issue, but I remember ppl didn't like it so we went to 26 man roster. Having a 2 way player is included in the 26 man roster. I see no problem with you dropping the hitter or pitcher in Yahoo if you aren't using them as long as not streaming. Ohtani is going to be more valuable than that last roster spot more than likely.

We originally added an extra roster spot to accommodate a 2 way player like Ohtani. We expanded rosters to 26, and gave all other owners an additional N/A spot in lieu of Ohtani.

We agreed that no other player would be carried as a 2 way player. Who wants Michael Lorenzens hitter anyways.

We hated the N/A roster designation. This was discussed.

We expanded rosters to 26 last year and did away with the N/A spot for all teams. It’s your choice to roster both players. You have the rights to both.

If you think cleverly, there are ways to manipulate his other half and still operate in the rules of the league.

I don’t see going backwards to accommodate 1 player. This is going to be the precedent for any future 2 way players.

So the solution is to give 13 teams 26 players n 1 team 25 players? Like I said, we decided to treat him as 1 player, but now it’s just more convenient to change it? Pretty easy to do since it now only affects 1 owner?

I know this league has been reticent to make changes in the past, but doesn’t seem to be a problem now!
