Just an FYI - I've dropped below the project innings minimum. I'm not sure what to do about it. I've got 14 starting pitchers on my MLB roster and have had a full compliment all season long. I've probably missed setting my lineup a handful of times this summer and thus have missed a few starts. But I can't imagine anything else I could have done to make the innings limit other than completely wreck my offense and just have starting pitchers.
I'm not asking for special dispensation this year. I'm just laying out the facts because the innings minimum has to be changed for next season. Starting pitcher management was a completely different thing back when we started the innings minimum. With the 10 day IL, plus covid, pitchers go on and off the IL several times a year. This causes missed starts. Combine this with the fact that only a handful of aces are allowed to go 7 innings (most of my guys top out at 5), and it is almost impossible to reach the minimum.
I've placed some bids for this week. But again, I have 14 starting pitchers on my roster. I believe the last time I won the title I carried 7 starting pitchers and had no problem reaching the innings maximum.

Currently i am projected at 1295 and seems to change daily quite dramatically im afraid. i have battled IL and covid constantly this season with only having as many as 4 SP healthy at 1 time. Its been a difficult season for sure.

I have 5 sp my roster and have regularly used 1 on ww and 1 in minors so 7 or 8 plus alot of rp. I will be at or above the max. I'm fine with changing the rule, but it isn't impossible is all I'm saying.

It's not impossible for a single team to make it, but do to the limited number of 7 innings starters, it might be impossible for every team to make it.
That said, the point of the rule was to prevent teams from not managing their pitching staff, thereby tanking in the standings and distorting the overall pitching standings.
If anyone thinks the Pirates, Phillies, and Dodgers are not fully invested in managing their lineups, then I don't know what to say.

The top teams will have the best pitchers. Those guys still get 180 innings. The bottom guys are mostly struggling to find innings. Innings should not be a reason to sign a pitcher, but it has been the sole reason I've signed the last 6-7 starters. I haven't even looked at their scoring stats.

I'm hot as love, baby and that's with the cray cray injuries. But I have been luckier than some. I feel for Pitts and PhillieBlunts.
Since this is the whine post...Ill bring up my earlier whine. I wish we could replace saves and holds with a Saves + Holds stat, though not sure how you would balance the pitching and hitting stats. I have given up predicting who a closer will be in 21st Century BASEketball.
Let’s see where we are at collectively when the season ends.
This season was always going to be tough on pitching. Nobody threw 100 innings last year. I believe that if the full season is played next year, more pitchers will throw more innings than this year, returning to more usual statistics.
