We moved to a 26 man roster to accommodate Othani. Question is, should we keep the 26 man roster in place for all teams moving forward, which would include the 2 way players?
The question isn’t 26 man roster including 2 way player. That would put the person with 2 way guy at disadvantage if the player isn’t Ohtani. I wouldn’t want to waste my 26 spot on Lorenzen as a hitter. Unless we can drop the hitter in this example then you’re at a disadvantage. My question was we talked about going to 26 man roster like MLB is suppose to be now before COVID. And that would involve 27 roster spots with 1 been taken by the non usable player as we did this year and last year. Just going to 26 doesn’t solve the issue. And I need some resolution so I know how many players I have to cut.

If you acquire a player, you acquire the rights to both hitter and pitcher. It should be your choice to roster both players, or just 1.
Unless it’s Ohtani, I doubt you wanna roster both players....so, why make a rule for 1 player? MLB rosters are at 26, Cashmans rosters should be at 26.
The more roster spots we add without adjusting the cap is dumb. Let’s not go down that rabbit hole.

But that’s a contradiction of what we’ve done. Your proposal is basically treating Ohtani (and Lorenzen and McKay) as 2 separate players (hitter n pitcher), which I prefer, but want to b clear that it’s a change and affects 1 out of the 14 managers now (and eventually another when McKay becomes MLB eligible). To me it makes sense to make the change and stop with the non sense of having 13 teams carry a NA player on their Yahoo rosters.

If someone wants “both” Ohtani’s then they should have to spend the roster spot for that privilege. If not 2 different teams could have an Ohtani. It gets simpler to understand if u just treat them as separate players. If Yahoo ever makes it 1 player that gets both hitting n pitching stats, then players like Ohtani would have more value, but seems stupid to keep it like it’s been imo.
If we only go with 26 and don’t have the NA nonsense then the owner of a 2 way player should be able to just keep one on their roster if they want and leave the other (hitter in all cases except Ohtani for now) in the FA pool. Otherwise the owner is at a disadvantage to other owners in the league. Yes you know he’s two way when you acquire him but you can’t take just one side of him. So then what, these players are just unusable in this league? Makes no sense.

I think we should keep it the way we have had it w a n/a player as a place holder. That has worked just fine. I'm fine w going to 26 man roster plus n/a

Still hate the NA placeholder. Would b ok w giving the Ohtani owner ability to leave either hitter or pitcher on FA like SD said. Would b kind of like a free WW for Ohtani owner, that way they wouldn’t b at a disadvantage.
I don’t mind the NA spot on our Yahoo rosters. I like going to 26, and still having the NA roster spot for teams that wanna carry both Ohtanis on their roster.
The logistics part of it is because Yahoo is not a robust site and doesn’t allow individual roster sizes per team.
We added the NA roster spot to our rosters so Toronto could have both hitter and pitcher Ohtani on his active roster without being penalized. Going to roster sizes of 26 (really 27 in Yahoo) and carrying an NA player, and would allow every manager the ability to carry 1 two way player without penalty.

What happened to this last year? Can we make sure Yahoo Roster sizes r 27 players this season, which will include an NA for 13 of the 14 teams? The 14th team will have Ohtani as a 2-way player. That’s how it was always supposed to be, I guess Boston didn’t realize it after he obtained Ohtani so he never said anything. So 27th player will either b NA or Ohtani.
This was the whole reason for this vote, to increase roster sizes to 26 players. There is only 1 two-way player that I see having a fantasy impact and that's Ohtani. I don't see the need for a special rule for this or increasing rosters to 27 players.
IMHO, if we are increasing roster sizes again, there would need to be a salary cap modification as well.
