There is one MiLB draft per year in mid-January. Our initial draft will be to stock our teams and consist of 12 rounds. Any player who hasnt gained major league status(150 AB's/50 IP) is eligible. Subsequent years will be 7 rounds each.
We assign 'controlling years' to each player drafted. Can assign 1-5 yrs per player. The cap for each team is 75 years. There is no limit as to how many players you can draft other than not to exceed 75 yrs.
When you draft a player, list his name, organization, and how many years assigned to him. Then list all drafted players on your team page with total years.
Also, once a year is a 4 round entry draft. This will be scheduled about 2-3 weeks after the actual draft. Assign the years in the same way.
Prior to the MiLB draft and starting on Jan 1, you will be allowed to drop a maximum of 4 minor league players. The years will be voided and subtracted from your total, thusly opening up those years to use again. You must list your drops before the draft and post them in the appropriate place in the 'demotion' thread. Update your team page with the new total years number.
For our game MiLB players can go up/down an unlimited amount of times. You dont need waivers, even if they gain major league status. But, at the end of the season they must be placed on the final roster or be lost to free agency.
When promoting a minor leaguer to your major league roster, use the standard salary of $600,000. You can assign from 1-5 years for contract length.
