My recollection was that we had changed the rule last offseason to make it unlimited cuts. I actually prefer to limit it to 1 or 2 (rewards those who draft well).
If anyone can dig up a post that shows it's not unlimited, then we'll enforce whatever was decided at that time. But I swear we changed it to unlimited cuts last offseason.

See this thread....http://doincashmansjob.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=chat&thread=2351&page=1
Looks like the suggestion was made to go to unlimited drops and nobody objected. This is why I was under the impression that we had unlimited drops. If you think I'm misreading it, please let me know. Eventually I will try to get all this stuff codified somewhere so there will be no mistakes.
To me it is not a big deal to allow unlimited cuts of minor leaguers. I don't really see it as a competitive advantage to any team to cut as many as they want.
I understand the draft better thought, but those who do not draft well are already penalized by crappy minor league players. If someone wants to continue people and cut them, then I say more power to them.

So I have a question! Let's use Mike Trout as an example:
Trout has gone from 2 years to 5 years. For nuts's and giggles let's say he doesn't get his 150 AB's for a couple years. So when he gets his 150 he's sitting at 3 years and needs to be promoted or lost, correct?
So at that time Trout promotes him, so say in 2013 he promotes him for the 2014 season. At that time does he then get to sign him to the 5 year max major league contract?
