from our pms (tell me where i am misunderstanding something)
me: "who is eligible to be drafted? can i pick the local high school kid drafted in the 50th round who is committed to go to college anyway? can i pick the local high school kid who wasnt drafted? can i pick some 13 year old cuban hot shot that can already throw 103 mph? i know we cant draft japanese professionals and anybody with 150 at bats or 50 ip. but who else cant we draft?"
you: "we play you can select anyone who was actually drafted by a major league team on that day."
me: "how about international signees that weren't eligible for the draft?"
you: "we just keep it simple. only players that were signed on 6/5."
so...you can see why i thought cahill and teheran were eligible. you said only players that were signed on 6/5 are eligible. cahill and teheran fall into that. im not trying to be difficult. im just trying to get the best player for my team within the rules. if the rules are that only guys drafted this year are eligible, then that's ok. i understand now why cahill isnt eligible, but i dont understand the ruling on teheran. i think next time we should include guys who signed during the previous international signing period. otherwise, there isnt really a fair draft for them.
