if he retires what happens to his salary? autom deleted? i dont owe anything? what if i place him in ww#1 and he retires. can i then re-use ww #1 because he retired?
I believe the rules state that each waiver can only be used by one player per season. So if you put Burnett on a waiver knowing that he has a good chance of retiring, I don't see why you would be able to re-use that waiver.
Additionally, I believe that if Burnett is released in our league before announcing his retirement, he simply becomes a free agent in our league and only the normal salary relief for dropping a player would be applicable.

cant reuse the waiver. if he retires, then the contract is cancelled. but if you cut him and then he retires, you are still on the hook for the cut amount! so keep him until he retires.
sometimes players retire without officially retiring. if he announces he is retiring, then i think that is good enough. if he decides to come back, he's a free agent at the point he signs a contract.
