my opinion is that something should be done. but i also think most people disagree. im always willing for a conversation on this. now is the time, not in july.
No reason to change the way things have been. If a team drops a player on his final year of the contract, then he is fair game for the rest of the league to bid on for as many years as they want. If other teams don't have the money, they can trade or cut guys to free up money. If a team doesn't trade or cut, then that is on them, they put themselves in that situation.
There is nothing wrong with how things are now. Look at the guys who just went through the FA bidding?? Oh well OK, COME ON!!!
I don't care who went through FA, you need to have the BEST players in baseball available in the free agent bidding. That is part of what this league is based on, FREE AGENCY.
I don't want to hear it's equal for everyone, or you shouldn't have been so close to the cap. Come July/August some teams have different directions, some are playing to win and others are rebuilding. How is that equal??
If a rule were put into effect this year based on the top 50 ranked players by Yahoo
Why should anyone who signed a free agent to a contract specifying the number of years and dollars suddenly have that contract cut short simply because the player had a great season. The whole idea of this league is to accumulate talent and keep that talent for as long as possible. Free agency is NOT the only way to acquire players. We also have two minor league drafts each year, and you can trade for whomever you want as long as you're willing to pay the price. Anyone who wants the best players to be available for auction every year should not be in a dynasty league. They should join an auction league where all of the players are free agents every year.

The amount of money spent on salary cap plays a huge role in free agency. It does not matter whether it is in the middle of the season or end of season. You chose how long you want a player and much you want to pay and you live with the consequences. If there is a player that you want either during the season or during the FA auction and you have funds at the time, you must make another choice, cut someone to get additional cap space or pass on the player. Why should someone who has the cap space during the season be penalized for not spending his money? It takes away part of the strategy of this league.
Didn't stop people from going after darvish and cespedes. I do not feel guilty about getting cespedes, i left money and made trades to make sure i got 1 of them. Nothing wrong with how things are, rebuilt my team by taking guys people cut. Everyone has that opportunity.
