I’m not going to be the best person to take full ownership of the fa auctions, but I’m more than happy to help where I can. If you want someone who can just make up the lists, or something else that will just be me blocking out a few hours I’m your man. It’s the consistent daily oversight I would be hesitant on.
I like it. I’ll give some help here too. The list is the hardest thing to compile. We’ve all had challenges with it when we took on this task. Others will fact check it😉

If I'm not mistaken n too avoid confusion, I believe Cashman Year Ends at 12:00 AM (Midnight) on 10/11/21. Meaning we'd have all day to "tweak" or make trades on the 10th. I know this came up once before.
I don’t understand your comment. Pitts posted a list of expiring contracts. What does that have to do with trading players? That list of people isn’t changing.

Dude, LOOK at the thread...this is OFF SEASON Schedule, just cause Pitts posted here about expiring contracts, doesn't automatically change the thread. Comprende???

Does this spell it out better? Was just trying to confirm 10/10 was basically Cashman's New Year Eve n when the ball drops at Midnight, that's when New Year BEGINS and Trading STOPS!!
Expiring contracts are exactly that. These players are free agents.
As for trading players still under contract, you certainly have some time left to do so. Pitts is just getting a head start on the list of players for FA auction.

For those who have constructed the FA lists in the pasts, any tips or guidelines I should keep in mind?
Right now I have the list Pitts provided (Huge thank you), took any top 500 (yahoo ranking) players in Yahoo, and just did a glance at players outside the top 500 for names that might stick out. Granted I still need to cross check the list I have together with the sheets I think I have waaaay too many players.
Last year we had right around 150 names, and i'm assuming with the amount of time we have we probably don't want to go over this by very much? We have about 120 that have expiring contracts. I figure if they are on someone's sheet currently they are probably worth keeping on unless we see a retirement. We still have any cuts owners make for the final rosters, which that alone probably gets us close to the 150.
I guess my question is i'm assuming I need to significantly cut down the list of players who are current FAs, but should I be 100% subjective in selecting guys, or is it better to use a specific method like Yahoo rankings to determine who stays and who goes?

I think it's best to use a combination of selecting those players that would interest u (n hopefully others...lol) n Yahoo rankings. Platoon and Bench Players usually can b skipped, also try not to include too many RP's unless they r Closers or possible Closers, obviously we still want Hold guys, but usually those guys as well as Platoon n Bench Guys can be picked up later in Blind Auctions.
