I voted "NO" 30 times but looks like only counted once. Why?? Stupid idea. The league was formed on 1-5 year contracts, being back ended. Then every team has the same opportunity to bid on players in free agency. Everyone agreed to this by participating in the league.
Minny, my feathers are ruffled too for wasting my time trying to explaining why a team shouldn't gain an added advantage over someone else for the same common goal. You traded $29 million in 2021, $45 million in 2022, $15 million in 2023 which limits your ability in free agency bidding but wanting to retain superstars at a cheap price. Come on.
Your issues playing to a salary cap?? No one probably thought someone would trade $45 million dollars of salary cap money for a player or see a team trading a high salary player and paying his contract for another team only to double the salary of a team throwing of competitive balance. A change was needed not more stupid trades.
As far as you and NY winning the league. You guys put way more time in than other teams but good for you. Congratulations.
So now we both have ruffled feathers. The league rules have been in place for years. Want a change, get everyone to agree. Otherwise feel free to create a league based on majority rules and see how that turns out. I can tell you if it's a pay league, you'll have a lot of issues.
Are you happy Pitt and Philly? You killed something most of the league wanted. My feathers are ruffled. If the Yankees and Twins win too many times we get a hard cap radically altering the league w no voting, but if a new team proposes a change nd a majority of teams are in favor then hold on the old commish (who abdicated his throne) and his buddy come back to save the league. BS, but whatever
THat's just silly. I didn't kill spit. I don't like the rule. But find a post where I am arguing that we shouldn't do it. You guys decided 'majority rules', which is stupid, but I'll abide by it. Again, find a post anywhere that says I won't abide by the new rule or am saying we can't have it.
I don't have to like all the rules in order to play in the league. But I do insist that rules be implemented fairly. You admit that the rule was put into place because enough owners have players they want to keep beyond their contracts. So the guys who don't have players like that can go buzz off I guess. I thought you were reasonable. Not sure why I continue being attacked when I just want fairness for everyone. You get less hate trying to game the system here than you do looking out for everyone.

It wasn't even my idea to begin with, but by pushing discussion to a vote I made myself a spokesman. I just get frustrated that we can't change anything.
More importantly though I need to apologize. I turned into a keyboard warrior tuffguy and fired off a response without sitting on it and thinking. I'm sorry to Pitt and Philly for demonizing them for pushing what they feel is right for the league.
We have coexisted for so long together. I am full of hope at this moment.
I suggest we table this discussion for the time being. We all have stated our opinions. Let’s settle some other league business first before reopening this envelope.
Guys, spring training is in full effect! We should be grateful that baseball is only about 6 weeks away!

This is the internet, sir. Apologies are not allowed. Thank you all the same. Hope I haven’t offended anyone.
