2020 Entry Draft Rules

The 2020 Entry Draft will commence on October 17, 2020 and moderated by Detroit.

Each day will run from 7am - midnight (CST). 8AM to 1AM EST for normal people.

We will break between midnight and 7am (CST). Again, 1AM EST to 8AM for round earthers.

Each team will have 6 hours to pick.

If you miss your time you can always come back and select.

If you know you will miss your time you can always PM Detroit Tigers with a list of players to choose from or mention 'next best'. We will assign 5yrs for a high schooler and 4yrs for a college player.

This will be run exactly like our MiLB draft.

Players drafted will be placed in your minor league system.

When you draft a player list his name and # of years you want to control him.

Only players that were drafted in June's 2020 MLB First Year draft are eligible. (Don't draft yourself, or another player who was NOT drafted in June 2020)

Remember you only have 75 total years for all players in your minor league system.

Also at the end of the season, sheet admins will not subtract 1 year from any player selected in this draft.

Detroit, do we still only have 75 years or what was the final decision for adding minors years due to Covid this year?

Edit: I now see the poll that was voted on, so will our minors years have the 1 year deducted from each player currently on our minor league roster prior to the entry draft starting?

Good question Chicago.

I think every team should have the say in whether or not to subtract a year or NOT from each player in their minors. For this, I think we need to add a tab to the end-of-season rosters so that every team can publish a list (or general terms) on what to do for each player.

Personally, I have 31 minor league players. Most of them I want a year taken off. This helps me manage my cap (years) for future drafts. I have a bunch of picks to use in the next few years as well.
