END OF SEASON, FREE AGENCY AND RULES
At no time can you exceed 90mil for 2009.
The regular season ends on 9/28. Your final end of season roster is due 1 week later on [edit]10/5. It can be up to 25 players. It can be less than that. It has to be less than 25 if you want to bid on FA's. It includes any players still on the DL, still on WW and any minor leaguer who has attained major league status. I will beforehand list my ending roster to be used as a template. PM your ending roster to the free agent/admin accounts. I reserve the right to finalize a roster if not received by then. Any players not kept on a final roster are free agents to be bid upon. Players cut before free agency starts will use 2008 salaries.
List who you are keeping and which players you are dropping. At this point I will then list the final rosters and be given 1 week to input them to the new spreadsheet.
Free Agency starts on [edit]10/12 at 6amCST.
There will be no nominating process. I will compile a list of free agents to bid for. You can request a player and he'll be added to end of the list. Players cut during free agency can be included at my discretion. We will take 2 players 'nominated' at all times. Once a player is won in auction or there is no action for a player, then a new player next on the list is in play. Free agency ends when this list is exhausted. Regular silent bidding for FA's as used during the season then starts...again on WED/sUN.
As in our Auction draft, when there is no bid after 24 hours the player is then awarded to the last bidder.
You can start the bidding at no less than $325,000. The minimum bid for a player is $10,000.
You can still bid 10,001. I'm hoping this will speed-up the process.
We are going to do it this way because....assume all teams have only 1 roster spot to bid on. Assume every team nominates a different player. That means nobody can bid on another player because everyone has only 1 spot available and has nominated a player. Cliff Lee can be had for 325K. No good.
Once free agency starts all salary adjustments will use 2009 salaries.
During free agency trading is open and you can alway drop a player to open up a spot to bid on a free agent. Just announce your drop in the normal way.
