What if we put in place some kind of luxury tax where you pay something next yr if you go over a certain amt, be it $150 mil or whatever we want? Not saying I would even be in favor just putting a place for people to consider.
Not really interested. I pay enough taxes already.
I proposed $90 million off season (FA bidding) $120 million in season (to make trades for championship) somewhere on this board.
Trades shouldn't be this easy, make a tough decision, cut a player to get under a cap, opens up doors for teams playing for next year. Maybe a Robinson Cano would have been cut and someone signed him cheap.

Say I traded acuna for trout. I paid a heavy price already to acquire trout so deserve to keep him. Hard cap makes a lot of trades highly difficult or impossible which makes league less fun. More trades not less is my general rule. I'm sympathetic to you guys getting tired of the beatings the twins been put on you, but am going to be against any hard cap.
I think hard cap is more fun, you really have to think is this the direction I want to go?? Will it work out for me?? Also it doesn't end for the trading 2 teams, if players are released for making to much money to get under a cap, other teams bid for services thus continuing to build for the future.
It too easy to say, I'm out of it, I will trade you $30 million dollar Mike Trout for a prospect and I will pay all of Trout in season contract. You will have 3 or 4 teams doing this at the end of the baseball season just adding players?? Where is the fun in this??
Again, all is for not if only 2 or 3 people care about an increased hard cap. Which is pretty much where we stand.

While I n a few others have benefited from receiving salaries of traded players, I am NOT a fan of it. Especially late season trades where 100% of a salary can b included for a prospect or pick. Last season, Minny would make a deal n then I n KC would have to match his move. I suggested previously that we restrict the amount of cash allowed during trades n we did modify rule slightly for pre ASB, but I feel we didn’t do enough. I’d like to see a Max of 10% allowed pre ASB n then a Max of 25% after break. This should stop reckless owners like NYY from destroying r League...Lol!!

Also this would have to phased in or have implementation date of 5 yrs from now cuz I remember when I proposed we have cf, lf, rf as positions everyone claimed they had 5 year plans and couldn't deal w it!
The run at a Cashmans title basically comes down to who has the most resources (cash, prospects, players, picks). It’s not strategic. It’s a race to see who can acquire the most top players the fastest, before running out of things to trade. What is so strategic about that?
Fantasy should be a little more strategic. The way we play this league, teams that have no resources for the next couple of years don’t stand a chance.
Just put a hard cap number on this league. Say 120M. Meaning you salaries for the season cannot go above 120M.
Manage a team. Make tough choices. This should not be a race to see who can acquire as many 1 year contracts to win now.

Its not the leagues fault those teams do not have capital. They did not draft good, they signed high priced crap players, they paid salary of traded players etc... That is poor strategy on that owners part. Unless taking over a bad team, All owners are responsible for there actions and teams that they have assembled. I think there is more strategy then u think, thats how teams get all the prospects, money and talent. They have a plan and they try to follow it.

I doubt I had highest payroll last yr as I had core guys that were cheap. Betts, Jo Ramirez, lindor, g Cole, Bauer, carrasco, Springer, acuna. Sure I had expensive players but buying a title isn't as easy as you think. Kc made huge acquisitions as did nyy and it didn't get them the ship.

Also i wanted to add a point. I heard a sentiment that we cant get 8 votes on something. I dont agree with this. We havnt held a vote where voting is mandatory and not concluded until ALL 14 teams vote. We stop puddyfooting, come ip with ideas worth voting, and voting is made MANDATORY as conditions of being a member of this league.
